Apples
The saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” has its
roots in good solid truth. The
apple is a marvel of nutritional engineering and because of its overall
health effects, it’s no wonder the apple will grow in moderate climes
where winter nutrition is hard to come by.
Apples are easy to store, easy to eat and can be cooked with,
without real damage to their nutritional integrity.
As a rich source of soluble fiber, the type that actually
prevents the feelings of hunger, apples are a dieter’s best friend,
kept on hand for munchies emergencies. Apples bring your sugar levels up
and keep them up, staving off hunger for longer periods of time. Their crunchy texture helps to alleviate the psychological
habit involved in eating that bothers some dieters.
Apples lower cholesterol and blood pressure naturally.
As one of the premium fat burning
foods, apples cause you to
expend calories as you chew and while you digest. Don’t forget your apple a day!
